Coffee Me Darling, SS2, Petaling Jaya

This cafe has been here for a while now. Oh, we pass by the cafe most of the time but we never get the chance to visit as we end up going elsewhere instead. We took the opportunity to try out here last Saturday morning for breakfast before doing our weekly errands, seeing that they open early now.

We were one of the first few customers at that time. There's a small fish tank outside their outdoor dining. Interior exude modern style concept with red brick walls and art wall scribbles next to entrance and back wall.

Other than that, nothing much that caught my eye. They serve a variety of cakes; Salted Caramel, Irish Cheese, Passion Lemon Cheesecake and Brownies. They have lunch menu offered. Other than that, they serve all-day breakfast and light meal sandwiches, snacks, mains and pasta. 

We ordered Eggs in a Basket and Big Breakfast.

I was a little disappointed with my eggs in a basket. It was good but for me, it's just eggs on a bread. I have to say, I was expecting more. My hubby's big breakfast looks better than mine. Can't go wrong with big breakfast although we have in the past, been let down by it before in other places.

As for our drinks, he ordered his usual Flat White and mine was Cappuccino.

Their coffee beans were better in taste, which was to our liking as there was no after-sour taste lingered on our mouths after few sip. Overall, this is a nice place to relax and hang out with friends.

Jibril, SS15, Subang Jaya

It's been a while since we venture in to Subang Jaya and we've heard a lot of up-and-coming cafes and restaurants sprung up in the neighbourhood. Hubby was in the mood to explore cafe tonight after having dinner at home and we decided to visit Jibril. 

It rained when we left the house and we were stuck on the Federal Highway traffic crawl too but it didn't deterred us from going there. 

It was hidden behind Sangkaya, and the door was disguised and blend in like the brick wall. Quaint indeed, just like the olden days where there's a secret room in the shop.

I felt like a spy, going in to a secret room hideout. Even the look and feel and its decorations were back to the 30s and 40s style. There are two televisions, showing the late Charlie Chaplin in black and white. 

We ordered two drinks, Potter and Monroe.

We were surprised that they gave this round, ice ball, which is only given by bars when you order an expensive whisky bottle. Potter is a combination of butter flavoured non-alcoholic beer, topped with butter cream. The butter flavour was surprisingly nice and mixed well with the beer. 

Mine was Monroe, a strawberry satsuma sangria, non-alcoholic white wine. Sweet concoction with a hint of strawberry and orange fruity taste.

It's certainly a lovely place to chill with your friends or as a couple.

Sae Ma Eul, Jaya One, Petaling Jaya

As we were watching an episode of Running Man yesterday evening, we were discussing where to go for dinner. It was either Japanese or Korean. We didn't want to go far because it started to rain heavily the moment we stepped out of the house. With google's help, we found out there's a new Korean restaurant in Jaya One, which we didn't even know about. We choose to come here since it's indoor and there's a basement carpark.

We went up to first floor from the basement carpark and we found it at a corner, right next to Duck King. They occupy ground and first floor. They have a mini mart on the ground floor but seating is on the first floor.

What I found out was that this was the restaurant that I wanted to visit for a long time in Solaris Mont Kiara for Korean BBQ. Yep, it's the corner restaurant where the crowd is always full during dinner time. 

It's super nice to have a Korean BBQ on a cold, rainy night but we opted to have the Pork Rib Stew. They provide three banchan dishes and you can replenish it by yourself when it's finish. 

Service was slow when the crowd started to come. After a while, our pork rib stew came and a bowl of rice. We had to wait for our second bowl of rice as they run out of rice and have to wait for it to be cook.

They were generous with the pork ribs; huge pieces and soup flavour is balanced, not too salty but not very spicy either. 

We ended our meal by buying a melon bar ice-cream at their mini-mart below. All in all, the pricing of their BBQ and dishes is reasonable although limited in choices for a-la-carte. Service needs to be improve as we noticed at some tables around us, they had to call the waiters few times about their dishes, which hasn't arrived other than ours.
