Lounge bar hopping is one of my focus at the moment and this bar is no longer a stranger to most of you. Speakeasy bar is one of the on-going trend now and 61 Monarchy is open by the very same people who opened Hyde 53M.
It took us a while to look for it. There is no signboard at all other than the lot number.
As we walked up the stairs, we were greeted by wooden panels that resemble a slide-in wardrobe.
We were immediately greeted by a waitress when we slide the door opened. If you need to smoke, they have seats available, or you could step inside altogether and enjoy the nice, cool air-conditioned.
Do not expect the place to be lit brightly as the bar's feel and mood is dark and lightly lit. Some might have trouble reading the menu in the dark that once a while, I see torchlight switch on from customer's phone, including myself when I have to order.
Their menu is pretty extensive, with wide range of whisky, wine, Japanese malt and artisanal cocktails.

This is a long-overdue post. In fact, we came across this cafe last year end after we had our dinner at Jalan Alor. We were on our way back and I saw this brightly lit bungalow. Curiosity pipped me and we drove in, parked and explored. Not sure if their signboard is up yet as of now.
There weren't many people when we were there. They are selling some beverages that were displayed there.
Since we were full from dinner, we could only had a piece of cake for dessert. At their cake display counter, they had Tiramisu, Nasi Lemak Cheese Cake, Red Velvet, Matcha Millie Creme and Almond Crisp.
We weren't keen on trying Nasi Lemak Cake and thus, choose Almond Crisp instead.
It took a while for our dessert to come even though there weren't many people. I wish that they serve us some water though. This should be a given as most cafes serve water. My verdict of the cake is that it was nice, but just a tad too sweet for my taste.
I would need to go back and try again before I review more about Lepaq Lepaq.

As we rarely venture around Brickfields area, other than heading to Nu Sentral once a while, we decided to make it a point to explore on one fine day on a weekend.
My partner suggested that we try the famous Legend's Claypot Briyani, as he had tried it when their office went for lunch at their PJ outlet and he liked the food there and know that I would too.
Brickfields is their first and main outlet. Thankfully, there wasn't any festival or activities going on around the area or it would have been difficult to find a place to park.
When we were there, there weren't many customers yet as it was still mid-morning.
We ordered one mutton briyani rice to be shared and around 15 minutes later, our food arrived, served with banana leaf, pappadum and two side sauces. Their claypot rice was well-cooked and the mutton was soft and tender that it was easy to bite and eat. Pappadam was a little soft and not-so-crispy anymore.
If I want to have my Indian claypot cravings satisfied, I will go to Legend's again for their briyani claypot.
